Traditional storage arrays can be complex and inflexible. Often as your capacity requirements change, a forklift upgrade is required to provide the processing power and bandwidth throughput required. This is not the case with Dell/EqualLogic, one of the industries easiest to manage and most versatile IP-based storage systems.
EqualLogic is a winner of InfoWorld’s 2010 Technology of the Year award because they can offer a great set of features at a low price, excellent fault tolerance, high performance and unmatched scalability. Much of the same functionality that is found on enterprise class storage systems is included with EqualLogic storage including: thin provisioning, snap shots, replication, advanced application integration, virtualization, etc.
Strengths
· Unique architecture delivers the benefits of consolidated networked storage in a self-managing, iSCSI SAN that is affordable and easy to use.
· Virtualization enables controller performance and network bandwidth increases as capacity is added to the SAN.
· 10 GbE and SSD are available now, providing investment protection for the future.
· Direct integration with Microsoft (Exchange, SQL, Hyper-V, Storage Server, etc.), Oracle, VMware (vSphere & View), CommVault, Symantec, Citrix, Virtual Iron, etc. | | 5/16/2010 | | May 2010 News
