[fa icon="pencil'] Posted by John Certeza [fa icon="calendar'] May 19, 2016 [fa icon="tags'] Microsoft, Microsoft Windows, PowerShell

Microsoft Windows Server recommends that you Validate Preseeded Files for DFS Replication during setup of Distributed File System (DFS) Replication. But when you validate file hashes on either your source or destination server you may get the following error:

Get-DfsrFileHash : Could not calculate the file hash. Error code 0x00000005

There isn't much information on error 0x00000005, however there is a simple fix I've found.

Citrix Default Printer Won't Retain in XenDesktop Environment

[fa icon="pencil'] Posted by Lewan Solutions [fa icon="calendar'] June 29, 2015 [fa icon="tags'] Citrix, Microsoft, Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop

The Windows default printer is a magical thing. This is the printer that is selected by default when you print in an application. Depending on your particular printing workflow this may be the only printer you ever use. Some applications have a quick print functionality that sends a print job to the default printer using default settings and no prompts (for example, portrait orientation and a single copy). To make a printer your default, simply right-click it and select default printer.

BriForum Comes to Denver

[fa icon="pencil'] Posted by Lewan Solutions [fa icon="calendar'] June 24, 2015 [fa icon="tags'] VMware, Citrix, Microsoft

This year it is all going to change. I am more than a little excited that one of the world's premier IT conferences has chosen Denver, Colorado for this year's US location. BriForum is an independent conference that provides vendor-neutral perspective on current and emerging technologies and services.
